Panel at Aperture Foundation for Open Engagement 2014

Aperture_OE2014 panel

We are so delighted to announce that we are presenting a discussion of socially engaged, transdisciplinary, and expanded practices in contemporary photography at Aperture, as part of Open Engagement 2014. The panel will be presented in conjunction with the Photography, Expanded Spring 2014 issue of Aperture magazine, produced in collaboration with guest editor Susan Meiselas and the Magnum Foundation, which explores how the ground for socially engaged documentary storytelling has radically shifted over the last decade and how photographers might adapt.

The panel is co-presented by the Photography, Expanded initiative of the Magnum Foundation, the Aperture Foundation, The School of Journalism and Communication (University of Queensland) and Portland State University‘s Art and Social Practice Program.

Moderated by Eliza Gregory, panelists include: Pete Brook, Gemma-Rose Turnbull, Mark Strandquist, and Wendy Ewald.
